In Commemoration of

Jack Welch, Fred Defreitas, Joan Dimino, Edward Droszcz, and John Keane

Arizona Skydiving Center
Eloy, Arizona

As we have traveled and met amputees, many have come up and told us that what we were doing was an inspiration to them.  But , what we have found in visiting amputees, is that each amputee we have met has a success story of their own and that they are more of an inspiration to us than we could ever hope to be to them.  Jack, Fred, Joan, Ed, and John are just a few of those amputees who show a unique blend of strengths that is a lesson to us all.  To that end, we made a skydive on their behalf, as a celebration of life in general and the wonderful attitudes and strengths that each have demonstrated.  We hope that, in this small way, we can honor them.

We were joined at Eloy, by Ralph Fowler and three other amputees from El Paso, who joined us to make their first parachute jump and to celebrate the joys of life despite amputation.  Even temperatures of 111 degrees did not deter this group.
