Continuing our travels, we made a morning visitation to the Healthsouth Medical Center in Dallas.  Once again, Jerry got to ride in a fire engine and Animal was left behind.  Animal is not a happy puppy.  Later, he was heard to comment,  "You know, John has not really come very far.  He started out life riding a tricycle and now, after 35 or 40 years, he is still riding one of those things.  Go figure!"  Following a wonderful visit in Dallas, we arrived at the Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Plano.  We were greeted by Mr. Stovall, the Mayor Pro Tem who proclaimed June 28th as being Amputees Across America day in Plano, Texas.  As usual, the Healthsouth centers and staff afforded us a warm and gracious welcome and attended to our every need.  We still feel embarrassed that they lavish their attention upon us.  We are truly thankful for everything that they have done to made our visits pleasant one.  We have drawn a great deal of inspiration to travel on from the many people that we have met and visited with.  Valerie, a courageous lady, has a radiant smile that stands out in a crowd.  She was gracious and we felt honored to spend some time with her.  Her inner strength and courage to get on with life, despite setbacks and adversity, is an inspiration to us.
