After several days in Salt Lake City, it was time to move on down the road. We left early, anticipating high temperatures as we moved southeast towards Roosevelt, Utah.
Our ride today was dedicated to the very kewl folks in the Plastics Department of Ohio Willow Wood. What you do is so important that we are suggesting that the company be renamed Ohio Willow Plastics. That probably won't sell but what you do is important. Thanks for all that you do and for your support.

Along the way we saw several hot air balloons taking advantage of the early morning breezes. The mountain backdrop made the sight of these balloons even more spectacular.

We passed through the high mountains of Salt Lake City and through the desert plains of southeast Utah. The scenery was dotted with livestock and pastures fed by mountain streams which flowed freely as we rode through the countryside.

Here Trish prepares to ride with the boys. She eyes the AAA gang warily behind her. However, after several weeks, Trish has learned to hold her own against the wisecracking boys.

No Mark is not upset over the price of hot tea. His bike threw a spoke and he was forced to do some impromptu repairs on the beast. Mark's pride and joy is his bicycle and rumor has it he even gives the metal biped a shower on occasion and has it sleep at the foot of his bed.

Here the boys (including Keith) ride on through the desert. Mark is back with the pack and riding as we faced strong head winds and many small inclines. But the incredible scenery made the trip, as usual, a pleasure.

Pictured here is some of the high desert scenery we encountered today on our trip. I just keeps getting better and better.

Here Bruce rides through the desert. The blacktop radiated intense heat making it difficult to stay cool. Towards the end of the day the boys had massive hallucinations of giant mugs filled with fine draft beer.

Here Keith leads the pack with Jim in pursuit (The boys say hello to Jeanne). Cheryl and Joe ride in air conditioned comfort and enjoyed watching the boys push themselves through the desert.

Another view of the desert with Strawberry Lake in the background. In Utah, they call this a river. Go figure.
Here Keith rides on with the pack. The incessant, inane banter produced by Bruce and Jim make it a pleasure for Keith to ride well behind the pack.

Yet another pic of the boys riding through the desert. At this point they were so bored (or was it heat stroke) that they spent much of their time waving at bovines.
More
incredible scenery along the route.

Cheryl searches for the boys who by this time were in the deep throes of heat stroke and had removed their clothes and were spied dancing on a sand dune. Cheryl rounded up the boys and got them back on their bikes for more riding adventures.
Yet
more pics of the boys riding through the desert. Hey we did a lot of
riding today.

Here the boys (and Keith) take a moment to pose next to the AAA trailer. The boys are smiling because the trailer provided some measure of shade.
Here
Jim and Keith discuss the future of motorcycles.

Keith and Mark talk shop with a local patron near Roosevelt, Utah.
Well gang it was a long hot day but as stated before, full of magnificent scenery. Through the heat and sun the boys racked up a total of over 185 miles. Tomorrow we head towards Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
