It was a another beautiful day in Colorado Springs.  Here Joe talks with a local TV station about our trip.  It was a day filled with firsts.  It was Joe's 100th dive and more importantly the skydive was made to commemorate the attitude and success in overcoming physical limitations of Luke, Ethan,  and Sandy.  It was a day to celebrate with the Myers family, who came by to watch Joe fall from the sky.

Also watching the valiant skydiver was Debbie Nottingham (alias Goofy) from HealthSouth and her faithful companion Dusty.

Here Joe safely floats to the ground in his customized Ohio Willow Wood chute.  Joe landed safely while the AAA crew cheered his return to terra firma.

Here Joe grins from ear to ear in celebration of his 100th jump.  According to the skydiving code, all personal records (such as a 100th jump) require payment of a case of brewed beverage to all those who witness the event.  Joe we are still waiting on our payment.

One of the pleasures of our trip is meeting amputees such as Luke Myers. Luke is a recent amputee who we met at our HealthSouth visitation.  Luke and his family joined us to watch Joe skydive.  We are proud to know Luke and applaud his grit and determination.  Although Luke is a new amputee, he poses here with Joe in shorts, showing off his new leg.  Luke also completed an interview with a local TV news crew to talk about his life after amputation.  We are proud to know you Luke and we feel you are future AAA rider material.

Here some of the crew pose with Luke, Ethan and their father.  We feel honored to have met this fine family who have proven that life continues on even after suffering a trauma in their lives.

Luke gave Joe a headband to take with him on his skydive and this picture of the presentation of the headband to Luke following the skydive says it all.

Here Joe poses with Debbie and Katie from HealthSouth who turned out to cheer Joe on after his safe descent.

Here is Keith in a contemplative mood.  He is 1) Hoping this madness will end soon; 2) Wishing Jim and Bruce would shut up; 3) Missing Jeanne.

Tomorrow we head to the top of Pike's Peak for the first annual AAA downhill descent.  Stay tuned.
