We awoke this morning at 3:30AM to the flashing red lights of 25 fire engines struggling to contain a fire at the Italian restaurant behind the hotel.  We are beginning to see a trend.  We visit Carson City, Nevada, Kip lights a cigarette, and the next day they experience the worst fires in several years.  We visit Colorado, leaving in our path, more fires.  We are beginning to wonder as Kip seems to have an intense sense of joy as he reads the papers.  In our travels one evening around Pottstown, we pass an ice cream parlor several times as Joe calibrates his GPS.  The next morning, once again, the ice cream parlor experiences a fire.  Now, once more, the very restaurant that slightly overcooks Kip's veal saltibocco, burns to the ground.

So lacking sleep, electricity, and hot water, we begin our travels.  Unfortunately, the gods are not with us and we travel to Tinton Falls amidst thunder, lightning, and a pelting rain.  Upon arrival, at the hotel,  accommodations arranged by HealthSouth, we are surprised by their luxury and service. After days of Super8 accommodations, this is overwhelming.  Linda refuses to leave.  Everyone else is feeling pretty darned pampered.  Joe is concerned.  After treatment like this, the riders are going to come to expect it.  As Joe always says, "Nothing is too good for the riders of AAA... and that is just what they get... nothing that is too good."  Kip just smiles, so the local fire department, can stand down from their national alert.  It would seem that the Sunset Suites is safe at least for the time being or until they slightly overcook Kip's morning omelet.  To finish our day of travel, we rode the beach road to Sandy Point, NJ.  .
