On August 3rd, James Thayer, Linda Holt, Kip Peavy, Richard Hudon, and Andrew Johnson touched the waters of the Atlantic coast with their arrival at Sandy Hook, New Jersey.
Upon their arrival, we were met by Michael Sheehan who presented the NY Times Best Selling Book, titled, Running & Being, the total experience, written by his dad, Dr. George Sheehan ... he wrote in a note to the riders:
Congratulations to All of You
What a great accomplishment and what a great deed you have served to those you have met along your journey. It was a pleasure to be the one to greet you at the gates of Sandy Hook... my father's favorite running haven. On my run back home today I kept thinking that he had sent you to me to give me a needed boost of spirit. What a great feeling.
You have shared what we all need... hope and inspiration.
I hope you will enjoy his book and find a little bit of yourself in his journey to do his best.
