![]() We start our riding day in Amish country. We wanted to go into the general store but it was closed.
This gentleman rode past us with his hat covering his face so that we could not take his picture. However we did get him going away. We saw several horse and buggy rigs on the road today.
The ride begins on a quiet country road. Nice and cool and all downhill. Yeah right! It wasn't long before the rolling hills became mostly uphill.
The Appalachian countryside is beautiful. This was one of the rare flat runs.
Here we are cresting one of the smaller hills. Notice Joe has joined us for a training session. He was kicked out of the truck due to his incompetence with the GPS. Too many u-turns; we don't have all year to complete our journey.
Kip shepherds Joe along to make certain he doesn't get lost. Kip says he got tired from having to ride his brakes; Joe is a little slow at times (scared of speed at ground level).
Joe is very proud of himself. I believe he rode at least three miles today. Special Ed rides again.
Ah' another well deserved downhill portion. We saw speeds in excess of 40mph at times.
As usual Joe cheats on the uphill portions. No wonder he is never tired.
This is an example of Joe's prowess at navigation. Dirt roads are quite an adventure. Yes we did get in the beloved u-turn.
Rolling on towards Mechanicsburg. A good day to ride and enjoy. The traffic was sparse and the weather was great.
