Another skyline of one of the large beautiful cities that are spread across this country. This is view that greeted us as we entered Philadelphia.
It was quite a surprise, but Joe was able to locate our destination with little problem. This, however, meant that we had time to kill. Utilizing his trusty GPS, Joe was able to locate a park in which to hang out.
Here we have some energetic souls taking a stroll to use the time for their physical benefit.
While in the park, the group met a couple of local police officers that are working with some of the children in the community. They are presented with posters of the Junior Ambassadors.
Officers Cassandra Rodriguez and Michael Pittman with the Police Athletic League took the time to talk with James about the journey.
Some of the local children that are engaged in some community programs this Summer.
A beautiful mural graces the wall of the lobby at the Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia.
Colorful kites were hanging in the vaulted ceiling area in the recreational therapy room.
The view from the sixth floor of the hospital looking out over the city shows a wide variety of buildings and neighborhoods.
Kip is attempting to shoot all of the alien ships he can while playing a video game. Notice the concentration. His big question was, "how do I turn this thing on?"
The group was able to meet with quite a few patients in the out-patient clinic area. Joining us were also some doctors and staff.
A fine shot of a mother and child demonstrating their bond in the face of adversity.
Richard interacting with the mother and her child, spreading cheer and inspiration among other things.
Colleen was taking on, and beating, all challengers at air hockey, until James beat her. She has a very determined spirit and reports being very athletic. She also exhibits an attitude of being a jokester. Way to go Colleen!
Once again, Andrew is found with the ladies. He has such a combination of cute and manly that women of all ages just can't seem to resist. Just look at that pose. Attitude, intelligence, and looks all rolled into one!
Once he was able to get Kip to move away from the game, Andrew took over.
James is caught contemplating the world outside of the hospital. The journey is almost finished.
"Work the crowd, work the crowd", as Joe says, are the words bouncing around inside of Kip's head as he visits with parents of patients at the hospital.
Two beauties and a beast. Dennie Chipollini, guest rider from Shippack, PA, enjoying the company of Janette and Sheila, Joe's wife and daughter. These are the ladies who have helped make Joe the man he is today.
Aaron is admiring the skill that James is demonstrating at the video game (or is he laughing at the level of skill?).
As we exit the building, we once again pause to admire the mural showing the commitment Shriners have made to enhancing the lives of children who have medical needs. Thank you for all that you do for them!
