What a beautiful vista to start the day. The
mountains, the sunshine, the snow and the COLD. 36 degrees.
At
2 miles high to begin our first run of the day. Notice James doesn't seem to
feel the rather cool air.
Linda
overtaking an eighteen wheeler. We were going down faster than any of the
four wheeled vehicles. What a rush.
James
and Kip again took off on their own excursion and left everyone far behind.
You should have seen their faces when both vehicles rode past as they waved
their arms in a futile gesture.
On
to Getting ready to run the next 12,000 foot pass. This time everyone obeyed
our beloved leader Joe (special ed) Sapere and there were no tricks.
Coming
down the chute at speed Luke and Howard are really getting into it.
Kip
is coasting and grinning. Downhill is a lot more fun than uphill.
Here
comes Howard. He was wanting to go back up and do it again.
Lunch
is being served on the hoof. State of the art buffalo burgers in a town(?)
that's not on any map.
Our
personal chef. Great food and great people.
Check
this out. They cook right on the front porch which is very close to the
highway. It's impossible to go past without getting a whiff of the aroma of
something good being cooked.
Down
the last pass and on to Colorado Springs. We ran into a headwind that
almost stopped us going downhill. It feels odd to peddle when you are headed
downward.
The
view from Richard's trike
Richard
cruising
The
mouth rides again. Our journey won't be the same without Luke. I'll leave it
to you to figure how to take that.
