Gathered at the assembly point.

Everyone is rested and ready to visit the patients, families, and staff at the Shriners Hospital for Children, Northern California.  We had a very relaxed morning.  Instead of rushing to get the trailer packed with our suitcases at 6:15 in the morning and  hitting the road for another day of riding, we were able to take our time getting ready for a friendly and heartwarming visit to the hospital.  Everyone is anxiously awaiting this first of many hospital visits.

Keeping cool in the shade.

It was a hot day in Sacramento but we know how to stay calm, cool and collected.

Richard finds a cool tree to bond with while we wait.

Richard tries out his latest theory for foot protection while playing ring around the polesy.

Renee and Gloria giving the team full support and still smiling.

Our support team have been nothing less than superb.

Our arrival at Shriners Hospital for Children.

A warm reception for us in the second floor activity area of the hospital.

We were treated to ice cream sundaes, music, and many smiles and friendly faces.  We signed posters for the children and posed for pictures with the boys and girls.  Richard entertained us all with his disco dance.

Richard displays the fine artwork of 4-year old Mikey.

Mikey enjoyed painting Richard's face and arm.  Richard enjoyed showing off his "canvas".  This day showed us a different side of Richard.  Visiting with these beautiful children managed to transform this crusty Canadian into a real softy with a big heart.

Thanks to Catherine Curran and the staff of Shriners Hospital for Children, Northern California at Sacramento.  We will never forget these wonderful people who are doing such great work.

The children we met today touched all our hearts and will forever remind us that the human spirit is indomitable.

Tomorrow we will be making a skydive to commemorate the indomitable spirit and courage of the children we met at Shriners Children's Hospital of Northern California.
