Thanks to the efforts of Kate Steir, we were welcomed by the staff and patients of the Shriners Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Katie, an outpatient, takes Joe's advice and will have nothing to do with Jim. We spent the day personalizing posters for the children we met.
Our hearts were won over by Khase. She has a zest for living and an infectious personality that brings joy to those who meet her.
Bill and Trisha are surprised by a visit of someone that he thought looked vaguely familiar. Kyle, his son, joined by his wife and family, joined Bill on one of the Shriner elevators. Bill was heard to ask Kyle, how his trip was and if he came all the way from Dover by car? We wondered ourselves, thinking it would be a slow trip by elevator.
Kids are special at Shriners Hospitals. So are the many volunteers who make kids special at Shriners. Pictured here is Jack Robinson from the Shepherds of Lu Lu Temple who has volunteered at Shriners for the past 21 years. He was our tour guide and his gentle manner and genuine care and love for kids, spoke so well about every caregiver at the Shriner. Thank you Jack for all that you do.
