Joe responds to Richard's (2004 rider) challenge to wear pink shorts. He is color coordinated with the proper accessories and will take the fashion world by storm.
Upon entering a local MacDonald's restaurant in Pennsylvania, the good ole boys sitting at the table by the door made numerous comments to one another in response to Joe's entrance. We could tell from the snickering that they were entranced and captivated by the pink spandex.
To regain some semblance of self respect, Joe engages Bill in a manly water gun fight.
Jim and Trish are hunkered down inside their vehicle with the windows rolled up and the doors locked. Despite repeated pleas for them to roll down their windows, the two DeLong just smiled and turned a deaf ear.
The water fight continues until both guns are out of ammunition and the three riders have but to get on their bikes and ride towards Altoona.
Starting their ride at the top of Summit, the ride continues through beautiful Pennsylvania countryside.
We run down some great hills for miles and then when faced with an uphill, pay the price by granny gearing up the upslope of the next hill. Then we repeat the cycle in riding down and then up. The last hill before Altoona was long and steep and it cost Joe, Jim, and Trish. Bill continued on making the top of the killer hill and the ride down the backside, arriving in Altoona late in the afternoon.
