Mack, Glenn, and Keith from Alabama Artificial Limb and Orthopedic Service join Abel, Cliff, Joe, and John Keating at the assembly area. John is one of the original riders of Amputees Across America and was one of the first to survive riding with Joe.  Glenn Crumpton was one of the founders of AAA and was instrumental in forming the partnership with HealthSouth Corporation.

Joe and Cliff are being frisked against the Dodge Charger police patrol car.  Abel is hoping to finish the ride by himself and thereby proclaim himself the tallest rider.

Our thanks to HealthSouth and the Alabama Artificial Limb and Orthopedic Service for their wonderful support over the past six years.  Glenn Crumpton and Linda Wade have been instrumental in bringing this all together to make it the event that it is.

Leaving Gateway Park, Adrian from the Montgomery Police Department, Traffic Division provided escort.

Joe, Cliff, Keith, and Mack make it through the balloon tunnel.

Abel talks to the crowd and tells his story

Joe works the crowd...

Derrel takes a turn on the Ambulator.  He has been the HealthSouth miracle guy and has far surpassed the prognosis and progress predicted by the physicians.

John Keating, looks for Animal to appear on the scene.  Unfortunately, for Joe, his animal trap will go unused.  Anmal, once again, escapes from the clutches of Joe.

Cliff practices his finest calligraphic rendition of the Palmer method of handwriting by scribbling with his left hand, using the "Curl your hand so that it doesn't drag through the ink," method.  He fails to impress the 4 year olds who are doing just fine, writing with their crayon.

Abel ponders the imponderable.  "Maybe if I stretch myself with bungee cords, I can be as tall as Joe.  Maybe if I hang by my legs I can be as tall as Joe.  Maybe if I bribe the judges, I can be as tall as Joe.

With this in mind, we want to thank HealthSouth and AALAOS for all they have done over the years to make our visitations a success.  If it weren't for their efforts, there would be no Amputees Across America.
