Travel to Phenix City, Alabama

Today dawned dreary with drizzle. What better way to enjoy a dismal day than to ride bikes. So off to Maxwell AFB, again, where we rode a total of 60 miles. It would have been an uneventful day except that Abel has finally figured out how the pedals on his bike work. Coming into the final turn on the course, Joe cut the corner and passed Abel on the inside turn and accelerated for the sprint to the finish. The Little Runt, in the wrong gear and moving slow finally was able to respond and ran Joe down like a dog, passing the finish line ahead of the bubble bike. This was not a good thing. It is not nice to pass your elders.
Abel reminds Cliff that the BUPH has finally met the BUF. Cliff is very impressed with the perceptive astuteness of Abel, and was heard to mutter under his breath, "That little guy will do well once he grows up." After seeing the USAF aircraft on display at Maxwell, Joe relives his flying days by executing a perfect left 180/right 270 degree turn across four lanes of traffic upon our arrival at Phenix City. Cliff, with supreme admiration, follows. Tomorrow, we have our visitation at Phenix City. Only seven more bag drags until the end of the adventure. Life just gets better and better.
