HealthSouth Rehab Hospital of Henderson
We are met in the assembly area by the Green Valley Cyclists.
The assembly of patients and staff assemble in the heat trying to catch a first glimpse of the riders.
At long last the riders hove into view. Joe raises his hand in the air to see which way the wind is blowing.
Cliff makes a new friend with Victoria. As you can tell, Cliff is no longer upright but in a wheelchair. Seems that Joe put a piece of gravel in Cliff's liner causing Cliff to come up lame. Beas wanted to shoot him but Abel convinced him that they only shoot lame horses. Joe just smiles as he contemplates all of the riding he will get in Cliff's place on the road.
Abel meets the Las Vegas Olympic fan club for the Individual Three Legged Race.
Cliff gives an impromptu talk which Abel stands by ready to deflect the rotten apples being thrown. Notice the crutches and the pain Cliff is in. Joe just smiles.
Coach forgets himself and regresses back to earlier days. He berates one patient for not dressing out for gym.
Your friend and mine, Tony is an inspiration to so many and touches the heart of all those who know him.
Mary joins in singing America the Beautiful. Joe joins in making the neighborhood cats begin howling in protest.
Others hang on every word as Cliff, Abel, and Beas relate their own personal experiences.
Beas makes a special friend with Phyllis.
Our heartfelt thanks to Billy Schoonmaker, CEO, Marilyn Fink, and all of the staff and patients for their wonderful efforts to make our visit a success.
