We leave beautiful Farmington with heavy hearts leaving
the clouds and never rain behind.

Here is a good example of the typical road that we ride
based on information from Joe's GPS. Notice the smooth lanes and the J
turn turnout.

Upon seeing a classic steam locomotive, Cliff reminisces
about his favorite childhood storybook about The
Little Train That Could.

Cliff proudly displays the battered bookmark that holds
his place in the book. Cliff proudly informed us that he should be
finished reading it in another month or so.

A classic steam locomotive climbs a steep grade over
Cumbres Pass at 10,270 ft.

Abel is shown inside the caboose being interviewed by
Homeland Security. While one of the undercover agents takes a break, Abel's
continues to deny ever having been in the Rio Grande Navy.

Cliff (BUF) and Abel (SLS) try to measure the height of
Joe (SLUF) using scientific instrumentation. It has been determined
that Joe has fallen far short of the mark.

Upon departure or is it arrival in New Mexico, Joe's last
J turn has us confused as to whether we are coming or going.

Finally after hours of driving, a large lunch, followed by
a nap, the AAA team finally begins pedaling towards Alamosa in their Bumble
Bee disguises.

Taking rural roads, we were met with great countryside
vistas, not seen by the average traveler.

Today was a day that marks a highwater mark for the
inveterate four. Perfect scenery, a smooth road, temperate
temperatures, and great on-road camaraderie. It doesn't get any better
than this!
