We arrive at Poncha Pass, 9,800 ft of elevation.  Joe and Abel prepare for the first run down while Cliff and Annie man the truck.  Seven miles of 7 degrees down grade puts grins on the faces of the two riders.

To prove that stupidity is alive and well, we decide to ride (in the truck fool) back up and do it again.  This time, we left the truck at the top and all four grinning fools did it again.  Annie really wowed us as a high speed downhiller.  Cliff also, who topped out at 43 mph. After the second run, we then drove up again to retrieve the truck, much to the amusement of the traffic flagman at the construction site at the bottom of the hill.

Janette, Joe's wife, has come to the defense of Abel (the sls) feeling that Joe has been much too hard on Abel. Appealing to this new ally for help, Abel promptly makes a comment about short ugly people, directing his words at Joe.  To maintain proper order and discipline, Abel is relegated to riding in the bed of the truck with his bike until his behavior and attitude improve.  Abel hopes through the publicity of his picture shown here with a forlorn look on his face, that the common people and Janette will rally to his defense.

"Fat chance,"  says Joe.

On to Colorado Springs for our visitation tomorrow.
