Visitation HealthSouth Rehab Hospital of Arlington

It is pouring rain.  One of us has to make the ride in.  We all draw straws.  Joe loses.  Cliff, Abel, and Annie stand under the portico and watch Joe ride in the rain all crunched up behind the bubble, arriving soaking wet, and smelling like a wet dog.

Entering the facility we are greeted with a large group of friends, supporters, patients, and staff.

Abel talks to the crowd about the advantages of being the second shortest rider.  Joe disputes Abel's statement as he is shown here standing behind the rostrum.

Cliff tries to get Brooks, Wynette, or Annie, to come over and pull his finger.  All three decline, and settle for one of the autographed posters.

Thank you Heidi for the wonderful job that you did for us under the baptism of fire and first three weeks of the job.  We owe you our thanks for a job that was very well done.  Thank you staff and patients for doing what you do so well.

Abel sets fire to the trash can to heat up some flour tortillas left over from last night.  This attracts the attention of the Plano Fire Department who finally agree to escort thellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
riders into the Plano facility. Narcoleptic Joe has inadvertently dozed off while typing the above paragraph and apologizes for any inconvenience for the reader.

With a break in the clouds, Cliff and Joe ride into the facility.  The sun is shining and the rain a temporary respite.

Cliff is shown here giving a lecture on the progress of his study that he is conducting, titled, "A Medical Study on the Altruistic Performance of Dwarfs While Riding a Bicycle."  Cliff makes his points repeatedly by pointing to the different anatomical structures of Abel.

Joe thanks Cliff for his insightful comments on Abel's miniscule height.  Abel is shown standing to the left of Joe where Joe's superior height is readily apparent.

Iron Mike stands out in the minds of many as he gives everyone the motivation to carry on with their therapy.

Joe and Verna form an immediate bond by talking about Abel, the mighty of the mini world.

Donald, retired from the aviation industry, is shown here marketing a new line of support hose.

Our thanks to HealthSouth Rehab Hospital of Plano for all that they have done to make us feel welcome and to organize a truly noteworthy event.  Our thanks also to the generosity of Synergy, Hanger, and Richardson Bike Mart to provide rider lodgings for our stay. Special thanks to Richardson Bike Mart for the needed repairs and bike parts for the riders.
