Desert in bloom.  Only thing prettier is the face of Beas in the early morning.

Beas' trusty steed, anxiously awaits him as he performs his morning constitutional and pre-ride ritual of slathering himself with butter cream and sun block.

Joe is feeling a bit down about not getting to ride and is tired of waiting for someone to take his picture so he takes a picture of his favorite rider... himself.

Abel faces a 35 mph cross/headwind, gusting to 45.  Beas mounts his steed with his blue shorts flapping in the breeze.

Beas and Abel head downhill to Oracle Junction, riding into the teeth of a hurricane.

Abel attacks what Joe considers a downhill slope.  Despite the appearance of climbing a hill, Abel points out the van disappearing over the horizon but Joe is adamant that the GPS which we all know is infallible,  indicates that the hill is  downhill, and obviously an optical illusion. Abel is heard muttering in an unintelligible dialect of Spanish and Navajo wind talking, something about what Joe can do with his DS GPS.  Upon noticing that Beas has changed to his tight, red Speedo, Abel sprints the last three miles to the finish... alone, unarmed, and afraid, very afraid.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Abel rewards himself by drinking a $3.00 bottle of water in his hotel room.  Hoping that no one will notice, Abel was seen refilling the bottle from the sink and trying to reseal the cap.  Good job DS.  The AAA team is now in place in Tucson, Arizona and ready to conquer new heights in the morning.
