We were reminded of the HealthSouth Mission Statement as we walked in the door and saw it hanging on the wall.
Beas directs his comments to visiting members of the Arizona Wheelchair Basketball team as well as HealthSouth staff. In addition to his message, all sit enthralled and mesmerized by Beas's blue designer shorts,
Abel, sporting his Beasy Easy Tailored Custom Sports Shorts, is shown here practicing for his audition for a role as a Hobbit in an upcoming Lord of the Rings sequel. A Prequel to the trilogy showing him at his very runt best. His agent, wearing her aqua blouse matching Beas's blue shorts is seen sitting in front, evidently very enthusiastic and enamored with her client.
The highlight of our visit was meeting Paul as he worked on the ambulator. His sense of humor uplifted each of us.
Ebi is joined by his brother who is visiting him from Michigan. Abel is refereeing the brothers as they play the Mexican shell game. Ebi was seen on numerous occasions slipping money out of the pot when Abel was not looking. Finally, putting his Navy skills to work, Abel entices the two brothers into a friendly game of five card stud and rakes in enough money to cover his losses in Las Vegas.
Ed, a right above the knee amputee, is anxious to get back to taking pictures once he is fitted with a prosthesis. Beas and Abel discuss the differences between a BK (below the knee) and an AK (above the knee) amputation.
Always in search of his next meal, Beas want to know if he can eat the green stuff.
Rita Diane is shown sitting with her husband of a bazillion years while Abel writes words of support.
Beas talks with a Montgomery lass named Tash about the proper way to prepare grits. Tash is not quite sure whether to believe anything that Beas is saying.
