Doc Milligan

Doc Milligan, a 62 year old amputee, was born in Dayton, Ohio, and lived on a farm until he graduated from Northmont High School in 1965, where he played football, baseball, track and wrestling. He entered active service with the United States Navy in November 1965 and served until December of 1969, when he was discharged due to a bone disease in his legs. He worked as a plumber, was active in AAU wrestling and raced BMX bikes with his son Sean until he was 45 years old. Finally, after suffering severe pain in his legs, at 60 he lost his leg below the knee. He is a self taught sand artist of Western and North American art. He enjoys talking and helping others to set goals, taking life one step at a time. He thinks of himself as an ordinary guy just doing ordinary things. |
