Gallup to Albuquerque

666? Hmmmm...is this a sign of what's to come today?

Luke and AJ get ready to ride the Continental Divide from Gallup, NM to Grants, NM on Historic Route 66. Abel wants to make certain that everyone knows that he actually knows how to drop the riders on REAL downhill runs--unlike some other person he knows whose name rhymes with Schmoe.

AJ and Bullet (the new bike's name) marvel at the splendor of the landscape. She also seems to have grown a hump on her back.

The princess pitches yet another hissy fit. This time, it's because the boys didn't greet her with an appropriate depth to their bows and wouldn't remove their hats in her presence. She is seen here stomping her foot on the ground and vowing never to ride again--until later today.

It doesn't get any better than this! Blue skies, fluffy white clouds, and a cool breeze to help the riders enjoy themselves even more. Did we mention that Abel led us to a nice DOWNHILL stretch of road?

Luke, still sporting a hand with 3 fingers missing from a previous run-in with the princess, patiently waits his turn to interview with the Channel 13 news guy. As always, AJ stole all the good lines before Luke could use them.

At the end of the day, we took inventory of what occured during the trip to Albuquerque. No flat tires. Luke rode 28 miles. AJ rode 15 miles (nothing short of a miracle). AJ flopped to the ground twice today when she forgot that she has to put her feet down when coming to a stop. We ended up at Abel's house, had a great dinner (thanks to Jerri), and now have clean underwear! And to think, some people call this work!
