We couldn’t figure out today if we were coming or going so we decided to draw straws to see if we should go back to New Mexico or head on to Colorado. In the end, Colorado it was!

Some days we just have to remember the age-old mantra: I think I can, I think I can….

Abel, lulled to sleep by the passing train, took a short nap leaving AJ and Luke idle. They flagged down a passing hunter, confiscated two rifles, and began using this historic marker for target practice. This is why Abel ALWAYS keeps them busy.

Our welcome to Colorado party was extremely small.

We rolled in to Antonito, Colorado at rush hour. Rush hour there consists of 4 passing cattle trucks (extra stinky), 2 people walking, and a beat-up old Chevy puttering down the street. Needless to say, we stuck out like a sore thumb.

This is the Library/Fire Station/Gas Station/Hospital/Veterinary Clinic in Antonito. We think the town is only open on Friday and Saturday which might explain the enormous rush hour traffic.

AJ, standing on her head, directs the guys as to correctly position our caution sign. All that blood rushing down to her brain must’ve made her extra smart.

Slightly distracted by the wonder of the bright blue skies and wide-open spaces, AJ drives the truck off the road and into a pasture. At the time, she was singing “Don’t Fence Me In” which gave the cows an idea. AJ was last seen being chased by one extremely angry dairy farmer. The cows have moved to California where happy cows come from.

Did you know that the oldest church in Colorado is right inside of Luke’s head?

We always thought that ‘getting a bee in your bonnet’ was just an old saying. Clearly, it can happen as seen here

Luke makes a mental note about the Jack Dempsey museum. He’s heard that college girls like muscled-up guys and he wants to get some pointers from the oldest boxer in the universe.

Abel is seen here preparing a little concoction he calls his “happy juice.” It’s made of prickly pear cactus juice, tears of an iguana, and sheep sweat. He doesn’t drink it much, though, because it’s hard to pour into his water bottle
