Ah,
yes. The three stooges are welcomed with flying balloons, wary staff, and
terrified patients. Evidently, word quickly spread about the exploits of our
visits in 2005 and 2008: how much silverware was lost, the record number of
wallets that were reported missing at the end of the days, and how Joe likes
to steal any bedpan he can get his grubby little fingers on. On a more
serious note, today’s ride up the most torturous hill in the history of
mankind was done in Jerry Suggs memory. He was as crusty as that &@#$ hill
and we thought it fitting to do it for him.

![]() ![]() ![]() AJ, Joe, and Doc get busy slippin off watches, dancin like monkeys at the circus, and scratching all the skeeter bites that were acquired in the extra-sanitary old school bus where we et lunch yesterdee. |
|
|
Joe
begins his demonstration on how to become a soft shoe champion by gently
flapping your arms whilst completing a tippity-tippity-tap with your
prosthetic leg. |
|
|
![]() ![]() In order to upstage our plunging princess who loves to dive off her bike to gain sympathy, Doc decided to stop his bike by flopping to the ground like a dead fish today. As you can see, he had a slight elbow boo-boo, but took one for the team and kept right on going. Oddly, the blood that came out of his cut was brown and smelled much like coffee. |

AJ
has found that with height comes power. That being said, she is now 8 ½ feet
tall and towers over everyone. She was also a great help today during the
pre-visit decorating as it was very easy for her to hang the banner in the
ceiling. |
|
|
Doc
found his long-lost twin, Ray, today and swiftly put him to work counting
the pennies that Joe found in his leg this morning after he left it outside
his door last night. |

|
Scott
has the right attitude to be able to get back to living upon his upcoming
rehab graduation. We were grateful to be able to share a small piece of
Scott’s rehab time with him and know that he will be a blessing to many
others. |

Jenny
seems to be a repeat offender at HealthSouth and tends to appear there
during the summer. We think she just comes in for the air conditioning and
for Peggy’s delicious vittles but she says that she always gets hurt doing
good deeds for others. Sometimes it’s hard to be a Good Samaritan but we
love the fact that she spends her time helping others! Jenny,
you made our day and lifted us in spirit. |
|
|
Loretta
is one sassy gal! Not only could she tolerate AJ and her ego, she snapped
Joe’s silky spandex and made Doc giggle by telling risque jokes.
|

|
Joe,
aka Benjamin Franklin, enjoyed his special time with Dorothy Jefferson who
informed him that she is the mother of Thomas Jefferson. We know, we
know…Joe is older than dirt but, WOW...to be the mother of Thomas Jefferson,
she’d have to be around 290 years old. Dang, she looks good for her age!

| Our thanks to Vicki Johnson, CEO, and the marketing team led by Anna Methany, DMO. Every staff member, every patient, greeted us with grace, understanding, and support. We were uplifted by the response of all to our stories and we were energized and inspired by the miracles performed by staff and patients alike. Thank you for all that you did for us and we hope to see you in three years. |
