Visitation at Mid-America Rehabilitation Hospital, Overland Park, Ks

![]() Upon realizing that he’d left our camera in the hotel room (bless his heart), Abel left abruptly in the middle of his speech rendering the audience stunned and bored as evidenced by the picture. |
![]() The Princess is not thrilled when Tiffany Kiehl, DMO, tells her that she’s been “bumped” in order to give the boys more time to speak. |

The
HealthSouth security detail shows AJ the door she’ll be using to exit if she
continues to be rowdy. AJ, always treated as royalty (bless her heart),
giggles with disbelief |
![]() The Mid-America Rehabilitation Hospital’s unofficial welcoming committee snags the group and Cameron for a quick photo. |
![]() : AJ, unable to decide which foot is the right one, doesn’t participate in a pick-up game of the Hokey Pokey with the boys. |
![]() Kristen DeHart, CEO, takes time out for a Kodak moment. You may notice that we’ve acquired a tall blonde male with two fancy-schmancy knees. Cameron Clapp is as close to a superhero as amputees can get! You may have seen him in an episode of “My Name is Earl” or in various magazines about running or super-de-dooper athletes. Cameron gave one heckuva speech and was very hard to follow. Keep blazing trails, Cameron! |
![]() Emmanuel came to the United States after being electrocuted in his home country of Nigeria. He has a GREAT attitude about his situation and will, one day, move mountains and be a positive role model for people of every nation! |
![]() Larry distracts Doc just long enough to sneak into Doc’s European tote (aka a man-purse) and remove all of his coveted HealthSouth chapstick. Larry, you’re quite a sneaky little stinker. |
![]() Jim threatens to swat our pesky princess with his rolled-up poster if she doesn’t stop trying to clean out his ears with her homemade q-tip.
Our heartfelt thanks to Kristen DeHart, CEO, Tiffany Kiehl, DMO and their staffs for organizing our visitation and for their generous support. Each returning year, the event seems to get better and better through the efforts of so many people throughout the HealthSouth system. Kristen and Tiffany... you make a difference each and every day. |
