Riding to Fowler, CO the watermellon capital of the world. Watermellons it has, but wireless internet it does not so we will be out of touch until tomorrow.

The AAA team got an early start, just east of Pueblo, CO on another beautiful Colorado day.  We shared the road with lots of interesting people, cars and animals.

Of course, it helped us to get guidance on sharing the road...

We'd only gone a few miles when we saw several bikers trekking in the opposite direction, loaded down with gear.  Made us glad we had a support vehicle!

Is this John directing traffic, or is he waving at more bikers heading west?

John and Abel were feeling their oats, and had to be slowed down by an electronic sign.

Lots of fun things to see while on the road - dead snakes, farm equipment, old rusty cars and interesting murals.

We're being passed by a patriotic car.

While riding down the road towards Fowler, we were stopped by a lady who waved us down.  We weren't sure what she had in mind, but it turned out she was a cousin of Abel's - Rita.  Time for hugs and we were off again.

Several beautiful Colorado horses cheering us on!

We were minding our own business, riding hard, when we were stopped by two local guys who wondered what we were up to.  Abel and John talked to them for a while, and the two fellows decided to donate to our ride.  We thought it was terrific!

One more shot of John's T-shirt.  He had it made to honor his mom, who passed away in 1990 of breast cancer, and to show support for Jeannine (wife of John's prosthesist) currently undergoing chemo for for breast cancer, and also for his sister, Pat Taylor, a 12 year breast cancer survivor.
